06.26.2011 ~ Brydon & Krista ~ Kitchener Engagement Photos

This weekend was a busy one for us but we still had fun taking engagement photos for Krista and Brydon.  These two lovebirds met at Zehrs so we thought it would be fun to take a few photos outside the store!  We also took more photos at Rockway Gardens and Schneider Park in Kitchener.  It will be awhile before their wedding comes around, but we are definitely looking forward to a full day with them at the Springfield Golf Course in Guelph!

06.22.2011 ~ Art's Retirement Party ~ Guelph Photographer

Congratulations to Art Lawson’s on his retirement from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.  Art has been a mentor and grandfather-figure to me so it was a great privilege to take photos for his retirement party at the Guelph Arboretum.  He celebrated this special occasion with his colleagues, friends and family.  Happy Retirement Art!

06.18.2011 ~ Jacqueline's Convocation ~ Waterloo Photographer

Kudos to Jacqueline for finding us several months ago on Google on PAGE 15!!!  After searching through 15 pages of entries for a photographer for her convocation, she found ours and choose us to take photos of her family and friends.  What an occasion and what a great weather.  This brought back memories of my own convocation a few (ahem) years ago, and boy do I wish I had hired a photographer to remember those times.  Congratulations to the Engineering Class of 2011! ~ Ada

06.03.2011 ~ Bruce Peninsula Camping Photos

Even with the busy wedding photo season upon us, we still try to go camping at least once a year. This year, we went back to our favorite camping location: Cypress Lake at the Bruce Peninsula! It was a very eventful weekend! We had a huge thunderstorm overnight and flooded tents, crazy brave raccoons ravaging our campsite for food while we were awake and asleep, and our very first Northern Lights experiences!!! This was the best way possible to spend our only free weekend in the summer. ~ Ada and Andrew

05.29.2011 ~ Aidan & Carrie's Wedding ~ K-W Wedding Photographer

This was our first wedding of the season and the weather was calling for thunderstorms.  But not before Carrie and Aidan were able to have a beautiful wedding at Victoria Park in Kitchener!   The ceremony and reception were at the Victoria Park Pavilion and we had some great fun with the entire wedding party after at Kitchener City Hall!  Needless to say, Carrie and Aidan were a wonderful couple to work with and we wish them an endless marriage full of happiness! ~ Andrew and Ada

05.22.2011 ~ Albert & Rei's Engagement ~ Kariya Park Photos

Back-to-back days at Kariya Park! But this time I had the wonderful opportunity to take engagement photos for my high school friend Rei and her fiancé Albert. They came in from Richmond Hill to spend some time in front of my camera in Mississauga and they were totally awesome in their photos! Once again, I specially ordered a sunny day for their photo shoot as well even though the weather had called for some rain! I'm looking forward to their wedding in a couple of months! See you love birds soon! ~ Ada

05.21.2011 ~ Rahul & Dharshini ~ Mississauga Photographer

It’s the long weekend and what better way than to be outside taking photos!  Rahul and Dharshini were fortunate to have such wonderful weather for their engagement photos at Kariya Park in Mississauga and at Mississauga City Hall across the street.  It was great fun taking photos with them and we’re looking forward to their wedding later this year! ~ Andrew

05.14.2011 ~ Pointfore K-W Badminton ~ K-W Photographer

The 2011 Pointfore K-W Badminton Invitational was my first sporting event for photography this year.  Having run for 6 years straight, it was another great turnout!  The photos this year were by far the best compared to previous years, and not only because my photography skills have improved! =)

Badminton photography is definitely a different skill set compared to wedding/family portraits.  You need speed and anticipation to capture the right moment, and also the right equipment because you can’t use a flash on the courts.  Some of these action shots were only possible to take when I was sitting between courts.  I had a few near misses from shuttlecocks and racquets since I was in such a dangerous spot! ~ Ada

05.07.2011 ~ Tanieu's Maternity Photos ~ Toronto Maternity Photos

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to do a maternity session for Tanieu in Toronto. Tanieu looked fabulous and truly glowed with happiness in all the photos. Tanieu and Angelo are eagerly anticipating the arrival of a baby boy! I could sense their excitement throughout the shoot! ~ Ada

04.30.2011 ~ Baby Tauseef ~ Kitchener Baby Photographer

Thank you Dr. Mirza for having me over to do a baby photo session with Tauseef - he's my youngest model! He is less than two weeks old. Tauseef co-operated with all our photo ideas and was a real trooper through multiple outfit changes. ~ Ada

04.17.2011 ~ Man's Retirement ~ Kitchener Retirement Photography

It was our great pleasure to join Mr. Shu Hing Man's retirement party at Golf Steak House in Kitchener.
Mr. Man not only shared a wonderful and entertaining evening with his family, friends and colleagues, but he made a generous donation of $10,000 to St. Mary's General Hospital in Kitchener. You're the Man! ~ Andrew & Ada

04.04.2011 ~ Hiring the right wedding photographer

Jenn and Canh, one of our wedding clients, sent us this article: When wedding videographers go rogue written in the Globe and Mail about hiring a wedding videographer or photographer and some of the pitfalls people have had when they try to cut corners in their budget.

Jenn said: "After reading this article, I appreciate what the two of you did for Canh and I EVEN MORE."

We've seen our fair share of couples who were not happy with their results when they have had friends, relatives, or inexperienced photographers record the events of their day to save some money.

Keep in mind when hiring any photographer for any event, make sure you take into account the personality, experience, and equipment that they use and not just the price! ~ Andrew

04.02.2011 ~ Baby Austin ~ K-W Baby Photography

I had the opportunity to photograph baby Austin this weekend! The one thing that really amazed me were Austin's beautiful big eyes and his long eyeslashes. I learned from this photo session that babies can be beautiful no matter if they are fully awake or sleeping soundly. ~ Ada
